The Civic Literacy Initiative of Kentucky
The Civic Literacy Initiative of Kentucky is a multi-year effort to enhance civic engagement and civic literacy within the Commonwealth. This site is home to the online efforts to increase civic awareness in Kentucky. Throughout it you will find information on upcoming events, materials from past events, and other valuable resources that can be used to heighten educational and community engagement.
Election Administration Links
Kentucky State Board of Elections -- an independent agency which administers the Commonwealth’s election laws, promulgates administrative regulations necessary to properly carry out its duties, supervises the registration and purgation of voters, appoints the political party representatives to the 120 county boards of elections, and certifies the official election results.
Election Assistance Commission -- the Commission serves as a national clearinghouse and resource for information and review of procedures with respect to the administration of Federal elections.
Federal Voting Assistance Guide -- the guide offers information regarding federal laws on absentee and assistance voting.
The Department of Justice Voting Rights Section oversees various aspects of the elections process, including the new Help America Vote Act.

Kentucky Registry of Election Finance -- administers and enforces the laws regulating the financing of state and local elections in Kentucky.
Federal Election Commission -- the duties of the FEC, which is an independent regulatory agency, are to disclose campaign finance information, to enforce the provisions of the law such as the limits and prohibitions on contributions, and to oversee the public funding of Presidential elections.
